The Outreach Lecturing Fund (OLF) is an opportunity for U.S. higher education institutions to host Fulbright Visiting Scholars already in the United States for short-term speaking engagements. Institutions apply to host a scholar for 2 to 6 days, and plan activities that would enhance campus participation in international educational exchange.

IIE will determine the award amounts. Financial assistance is also available for Visiting Scholars to present papers at scholarly and professional conferences.

Through OLF, a Fulbright visiting scholar can

  • Offer department or institution-wide lectures to students and/or faculty• Speak on the history and culture of their country
  • Meet with faculty to exchange ideas and engage in informal discussions with students • Engage the wider community around their campus
