JACEE IS HIRING A PROJECT OFFICER FOR THE RAWABIT PROJECT

The Jordanian-American Commission for Educational Exchange is looking for an experienced and energetic project officer for the RAWABIT US-Jordan University Cooperation Network (UCN)Project.

Position Summary:

The Jordanian American Commission for Educational Exchange (JACEE)’s RAWABIT Project Officer leads the formalization, promotion, and management of the RAWABIT US-Jordan University Cooperation Network (UCN). Working with the Project Technical Advisor, the Project Officer serves as the focal point and key POC for all project activities; engages with university partners in Jordan and the U.S.; maintains project records; and conducts quarterly reporting.

Key Duties:

  • Engage and maintain ties with existing UCN partners.
  • Based on the RAWABIT project recruitment plan, help identify and recruit new universities and appropriate POCs to the network.
  • Coordinate closely with the project’s advisory board on all project governance requirements.
  • Create project policies and templates as needed.
  • While understanding and respecting universities’ strategic planning and institutional goals, work to increase awareness of the importance of establishing formal partnerships between universities to create better professional and productive opportunities for students which will lead, consequently, to enhanced economic outcomes in Jordan.

Operational Duties:

  • Submit semi-annual narrative and financial reports to the Department of State on project activities, outcomes, and expenditures
  • Manage the project’s Results Monitoring Plan (RMP) to track achievement of required project indicators.
  • Assure RAWABIT UCN activities conform to the project charter.
  • Based on the project budget, develop a project expenditure plan, and continuously monitor expenses vis-a-vis the budget.
  • Conduct desk and KII research on workforce development needs in Jordan.
  • Plan and manage project workshops, including relevant participant logistics.
  • Develop RAWABIT project mini grant policies and oversee implementation.
  • Assure careful adherence to the project’s award provisions, including branding and marking requirements, travel compliance, budgetary compliance.
  • Work with UCN members and project technical advisor to develop and implement a sustainability plan for ongoing cooperation following project completion.

Administrative Duties:

  • Work as a trusted point of contact for all project partners and activities, handling all inquiries and maintaining project records and data.
  • Keep members informed of academic opportunities for research and collaboration, especially with regards to Fulbright Program grants.
  • Provide a comprehensive understanding of Jordanian culture to American institutions and participants to avoid possible obstacles or cultural miscues during academic engagement activities.
  • Create communication channels to connect universities to help them cooperate and work with each other effectively.
  • Be able to express and present about the aims and goals of the RAWABIT UCN project.
  • Evaluate the needs for each university to explore the possibilities and opportunities for further collaboration.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will:
  • Be familiar with the Jordanian and American systems of higher education.
  • Have experience engaging with both Jordanian and American institutions of higher education, including senior university officials and scholars.
  • Be certified in project management professional (PMP) or Project DPro and committed to applying his/her project management knowledge and skills to manage the RAWABIT UCN grant.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of essential technology, including Microsoft 365, Teams, database management, and project management applications.
  • Have administrative skills needed to manage the logistical aspects of the University Cooperation Network, including project records management.
  • Manage project semi-annual reporting.
  • Have strong English and Arabic skills.
  • Be based in Jordan and be willing to travel as needed throughout the Kingdom to facilitate project objectives.
